August 10th is National Spoil Your Dog Day! Here are some fun and easy ways to spoil your dog that won’t break the bank.
BAKE TREATS
There are so many fun recipes you can make that are easy to put together. Any novice baker can create a yummy treat with simple ingredients. Chances are you may already have the ingredients in your cupboard. One of our favorite recipes simply requires peanut butter, bananas, and oats. Check out this recipe from Spoon University for your quick fix. A simple google search will also provide you with an extensive list of DIY treats.
GIVE A DOGGY MASSAGE
There are many benefits to giving your dog a massage, such as releasing the tension, relieving joint and muscle pain, and simply even putting them into a relaxed state. Even a short five-minute session is beneficial. There are ample videos on YouTube to teach the beginner pet masseuse.
SPEND SOME ONE-ON-ONE TIME TOGETHER
If your pet runs to the door to greet you the moment you return home, then this activity is for you. Spend some one-on-one time with your pet. Take them to the park, spend some time doing their favorite activities, or go for a fun hike in a new space. Take photos to commemorate the experience.
MAKE A FROZEN TREAT
Although summer is slowly winding down, the weather in some parts of the world is just beginning to heat up. We recommend giving your pet a frozen treat, or simply making your own! Frozen treats are fairly easy to make and rather inexpensive. We recommend blending your pet’s favorite fruit and veggie mixture. Once it is all blended together, put it in your favorite mold or ice cube tray. Freeze. Take it out of the freezer once it is solid. Enjoy your pupsicles!
GET THEM A NEW TOY
If your pet’s toys are looking a little shabby, this is a good time to take them to your local neighborhood pet store to pick out a new toy. You can also make your own toy using an old sock, shirt, or rope. We recommend checking out the American Kennel Club for a DIY tutorial.
GET THEM A NEW HARNESS OR YAP WRAP
